Government allocates KES 148.6M for TDIP dyke strengthening

A major funding tranche secures Polder 1 perimeter walls against heavy seasonal river swells.

Flood protection dyke beside agricultural land

The Government of Kenya has completed a major funding tranche for flood protection infrastructure along the Tana Delta, reinforcing its commitment to national food security.

The KES 148.64 million spend secures Polder 1's perimeter walls against heavy seasonal river swells, protecting more than 4,400 hectares of high-value cropland.

The allocation is part of a wider programme of public funding for TDIP, which also includes separate tranches for canal de-silting and secondary infrastructure. Together they show sustained institutional backing as the project scales.
