Successful proof cycle yields 2,063 tonnes of Komboka paddy rice

Iconium and TARDA have completed a proof-of-concept commercial harvest across 1,225 acres in Polder 1.

Using certified Komboka seed, the harvest produced 2,063 metric tonnes of paddy, an average of about 4.2 tonnes per hectare and well above traditional varieties. Iconium expects yields to rise toward Komboka's 6–7 tonne potential as water control and agronomy improve.

The result clears the way for Phase II expansion and provides the commercial evidence behind the investment case for Polders 2 and 3.
